*  IMPROVED AWS HBL INPUT CHANGES COMING SEPTEMBER 1ST

Dear AWS Agent and Partner,

We are making some changes to the HBL input screens which will become effective September 1, 2008. These changes are only in the input screen and will not carry forward to HBL .pdf for print. The changes have significant benefits for you as our Agent and AWS.

The two new fields in the HBL screen are Ocean Carrier and Rate Source

Ocean Carrier will be a straightforward dropdown list of the major ocean carriers in all trade lanes. You simply select the ocean carrier you are using.

Rate Source. After you have selected an Ocean Carrier, the second box will list the available AWS Service Contracts for that carrier. You will also have the opportunity to select another Co-Loader or Tariff Rate item. Simply select the correct rate source.

For Example- if you select Ocean Carrier K Line you will see AWS Service Contract 40837 in the Rate Source along with Co-Loader and Tariff Rate. Please just select the appropriate combination.

The reasons for the new mandatory fields are as follows;

          Many times a destination Agent approaches All World Shipping saying they have been notified by an Ocean Carrier of a shipment consigned to them but they have no paperwork. Currently we identify the shipment by process of elimination. With the new information we will be able to search by Ocean Carrier, POL, POD and even rate type to find the HBL quickly and then connect the two Agents.
          When negotiating new Service Contracts or renewing existing ones, the Ocean Carrier often only has information about AWS use in a single trade. They do not have the total AWS liftings on a worldwide basis. With this new information we will be able to run reports by Carrier and sort into Trade lanes. This information will be used to improve marketing information and secure better rates for you, our Agents.

How will this impact the Agent?

          Any new HBL's input into the AWS on-line system after September 1 will require this information which is readily known by all of our agents.
          Any HBL in the system before September 1 will remain un-changed. However if you open the HBL to edit the new mandatory fields will be required before saving
          None of this information impacts the HBL print. The HBL will not have to be re-registered by AWS nor will it look any different from today.

This is a minor change that will provide many long term benefits to our agents. We appreciate your continued support.

Best regards,

Gerard J. DeBow
Vice President Business and Process Development
